Number One

Hello!

Welcome to my playground!
I want to share here some thoughts, experiences and challenges that I get on my way during this whole thing. Before that a short story. So it's been couple years since I work for company where I retouch automotive photos. I decide to do something with it. For my own I mean. Do something cool! Idea come in - I want to build portfolio, challenge myself, push myself to get new skills and also share my progress with wider audience. And here We are! I mean on instagram. This blog I want treat as place to tell stories behind pictures. Bunch of first images will be as kind of tribute to my current job. So get ready for cars content, but in future I want experiment with diffrent subjects.

Without further ado here's a number one:

Basic retouch with background remove

For the first picture I didn't want something huge or extraordinary rather something small and simple. This is exacly how it goes being almost one to one recreation of my everyday job. Basic retouch like taking care of car brightness and visibility in frame, cutting background, windows replacement etc. There was no really challenges here. It was piece of cake. I know exacly what to do. Only one thing I need to figure out was picture format. I knew i want to put it on instagram so square seems right.

The biggest new for me was recording screen. Btw I used OBS. I never work on editing video. But I wouldn't upload raw recording, right?! I need to chop off video here and there, speed it up, add logo at start and the end of video, find background music and other fun stuff. For this purposes I find free program called Shoutcut. It's rather simple video editor and kinda unstable, tho but for now is ok. Music used is from youtube. Final video you can find on my youtube chanel here.

Intimidating empty screen of new project in Shotcut

But before everything there was a one big thing to think about. Where do I get pictures with free copyright? Because I can't use photos from my work. Big hero here was Pexels where are tons of pictures free to use. Backgrounds I used at the end of video are also from there.

Pexels great source for free pictures

That's all for now! Thanks!
